Founder + Digital Creator

GOWRKGRLS creates digital media from a modern feminist lens. We host Feminist Supper Club, a podcast serving up devour-able conversations for liberated women.

I founded GOWRKGRLS in 2017 as an online hub for entrepreneurial women. Initially, I focused on producing digital content centered on business development. As time passed, I expanded GOWRKGRLS' offerings to include branding and marketing consulting and hosting online and in-person events and workshops. In 2023, I decided to scale back and focus solely on digital media and content creation. Through GOWRKGRLS, I formed partnerships with various brands and organizations, including Skillshare, Mailchimp, Shopify, General Assembly, Atlanta Contemporary, Forté Foundation, Career Contessa, and the Dream Warriors Foundation.

Daily Harvest

Brand Copywriter (Freelance)

Daily Harvest is a direct-to-consumer food brand that delivers one-step-prep meals made from organic fruits and vegetables, making it easier for people to eat more plants. I worked with the Creative team at Daily Harvest to provide brand copywriting for various marketing channels and to edit contributor stories for Daily Harvest's content hub. My main focus was writing copy for print pieces such as direct mailers and product packaging, as well as email marketing campaigns, website landing pages, collection names, product descriptions, product launches and activations, campaign swag, and more. Nicely Built

Content Strategist

January 2019 - July 2020

Nicely Built, now known as Built Best, is a marketing agency specializing in developing e-commerce websites. As a content and marketing specialist, I was hired to create the agency's brand voice and content marketing strategy. I managed Nicely Built's social media presence and email marketing campaigns. I also developed educational content for brand partnerships with Shopify, Mailchimp, Brand Camp, The Southern C, and AmericasMart Atlanta.

In addition to that, I managed Nicely Built's Shopify Meetup Atlanta and Mailchimp Meetup Atlanta events, both in-person and virtually. On the client side, I developed email marketing strategies for e-commerce merchants and lifestyle brands. This included content strategy, email template design, as well as list segmentation and automation strategies. I also provided training to clients on analyzing email campaign metrics to drive marketing strategy and using Klaviyo and Mailchimp effectively.

WeWork

Community Hospitality Lead + Private Events Lead

January 2016 - September 2018

WeWork offers shared workspace for individuals and companies. During my time as a Community Hospitality Lead, I organized social and business events and initiatives like Mission Possible and WeHustle Wednesdays to build an engaged community. I also wrote newsletter content that outlined weekly events, designed marketing collateral for events, and formed relationships with key players in Atlanta's startup ecosystem, such as ChooseATL, Hypepotamus, ATLeaders, Startup Atlanta, and the Women's Entrepreneurship Initiative for the City of Atlanta (WEI). Additionally, I managed the Meetups x WeWork pilot at WeWork Tower Place.

As a Private Events Lead, a position I created, I worked with WeWork's HQ Private Events team to introduce a new revenue stream to the Atlanta market. I handled inquiries about event spaces and collaborated with organizers to book private events at WeWork's Buckhead locations: Tower Place and Terminus. I also connected event organizers to third-party vendors for catering and labor services.

In 2013, I founded an online magazine and community called Ladypreneur League. I was responsible for developing the brand's voice and look. I led a team of contributors who provided editorial content. Our most popular column, "Ladypreneurs We Love," featured interviews with successful women entrepreneurs like Marie Forleo, Katrina Lake of StitchFix, Justina Blakeney, Sally Krawcheck of Ellevest, Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg of TheSkimm, and many others. I organized both in-person and online programming and events and managed our social media presence. I also designed all marketing materials and established partnerships with brands such as Career Contessa, Ellevest, General Assembly, Skillshare, WeWork, and others.

Favor The Kind, formerly known as The Gypsy Wagon, is a clothing and home goods store based in Dallas, Texas. As a marketing coordinator, I was responsible for a wide range of tasks, including planning in-store events, creating and distributing press releases for product launches and events, managing the store's social media accounts, and designing store signage and digital marketing materials. Additionally, I oversaw the management of the store's e-commerce website. This included styling and photographing products, editing product photos, writing product descriptions, and fulfilling online orders.
